March Update
Just a quick note to check in
Hello, faithful readers, paid subscribers, and folks who ended up on my email list unbeknownst to you! It’s been a while since I’ve written so I thought I’d just do a check in and let you know I’m still here, still kickin’, still cooking and eating.
As I detailed in this post about a year ago, I tend to do my writing in spurts and then take good chunks of time where I don’t produce a lot of content. I’m not sure why that is, although now that I realize I did almost the exact same thing a year ago, I wonder if its seasonal.
After I got back from my still-to-be-blogged-about-in-detail road trip last November, I was really feeling the money crunch. I’ve been working a freelance writing job I landed while on that trip as well as doubling down on my side-hustle gigs to try and get back to close to above water, so I guess I just haven’t had the headspace for recreational writing.
For those wanting an update about a new Edzo’s…the possibility appears to be off the table.
I was working with a group of investors led by a longtime regular customer but after honing in on multiple potential locations, we couldn’t seem to get past the conceptualization stage and make it happen. At this point, I don’t think a new Edzo’s is likely to happen. I feel pretty good about the fifteen year run I had starting in 2009 and while I feel bad disappointing those who continue to encourage me to re-open elsewhere, I’ve accepted that it’s over.
So? I’m applying for jobs, trying to make a little money on the side with my writing and side hustles, and focusing on moving forward in a way that allows me to feel like I’m staying true to myself and my values.
